Amazon reported in its Q4 (2010) report that: "Amazon.com is now selling more Kindle books than paperback books. Since the beginning of the year, for every 100 paperback books Amazon has sold, the Company has sold 115 Kindle books." Sales of e-books outranked sales of traditional books! As e-books evolve to include multimedia such as audio and video embedded into the text, you can imagine that their popularity will most likely increase. There are already services on the market offering these options. (Vook and Sideways are a couple examples). Meanwhile research company Yankee Group, projects that e-book sales in the United States will mushroom to around $2.7 billion by 2013.
